Delhi is located at 28°61'N 77°23'E, and lies in Northern India. With the population of 22 million in 2013. Delhi has been given special status of NCR (National Capital Region). Delhi is surrounded by various cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurgaon, Sonepat, Faridabad.
The name Delhi is derived from the word "Dhilika". Kind Dihlu found ancient Delhi in 800 BC (1). It was the name of the first medieval township of Delhi, located in the southwestern border of the present Delhi (Mehrauli).
The per capita annual income in the national capital has increased by nearly 16% to Rs. 2.01 lakh in 2012-13 compared to the previous fiscal, which is three times the national average and second highest in the country. Delhi is India's one of the largest and fastest growing retail industries. Delhi's manufacturing industry has also grown considerably as many consumer goods industries have established manufacturing units and headquarters in and around Delhi.
